When a company is on a roll, and momentum is on its side, good things generally happen.   OrthoHelix is feeling the “roll”, and good things are happening.

Recently, we were recognized with an award from Quality Magazine, a trade journal for manufacturing companies and quality professionals. This was a welcome surprise for us, as it places OrthoHelix in the top 100 companies in the USA, based on product quality criteria. OrthoHelix was the only Orthopedic device company recognized. We placed #80 out of 100, and while weren’t number 1, we are pleased to be included in such a grouping of companies, which included fortune 500 corporations.

In looking at Quality, OrthoHelix not only measures product quality, but we also measure customer satisfaction, and we measure the quality of our product development activities. The quality award has caused us to look further at our organization and see if our product launches are “Quality.” In short order here are some high quality events with our product line this year….and its only April!!!

Several companies began marketing shaped plates, looking similar to MaxLock Extreme products. What did we do to protect our business and increase the quality of our product line? WE INTRODUCED TRIBRID™ TECHNOLOGY.   Tribrid™ Technology has enabled OrthoHelix to further differentiate our products by offering a third unique screw option, variable angle locking technology, which is proving to be extremely strong in static and fatigue strength. MaxLock Extreme has answered another Surgeon request, by providing a high quality, innovative locking mechanism.

Then, another competitor launched a new offering in foot and ankle plating, which looks similar to MaxLock Extreme and includes smaller screw diameters (2.4/2.7mm). Well, it just so happened that during that launch, we were completing the roll out of “Mini MaxLock Extreme”, that offers 1mm thick plates (very very low profile) and 2.0mm and 2.4mm screws. Wow, how is that for response to the market. Now, we haven’t completed a competitive product comparison of all the new products out this year, but I bet that the combination of MaxLock Extreme and Mini MaxLock Extreme offers surgeons the broadest offering of shaped plates. This is quality!!!!!

We know we have to keep staying one step ahead of our competition. That is a quality objective for OrthoHelix!!!
