We, at OrthoHelix, don't promise anything more than to give the surgeon and the healthcare provider, the best value we can in our products.

In all the economic and market commotion, there is a commonality within our business approach. I had the opportunity to view an art exhibit at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, which focused on the life work of Willem de Kooning, a twentieth century artist who was controversial and diverse. It was very interesting how his work changed over the years, yet this change was consistent, and reflected the overall change in perceptions of people and society. His work started in the early 1900’s as very orderly, then went through chaos, and ended in the 1980’s with a smooth, understandable order.
The Medical Device Industry has gone through this over the years of its maturation, and most recently has seen some significant changes in delivery and financial value. This is an absolute, normal activity, and we will see continued change, however it will center itself on the continued goal of adapting to the market, patient needs, and new technology.
Ok, so it sounds like this is going into philosophy. And this Blog is not intended to be a political statement, so let’s focus on how OrthoHelix is focused on change and improvement based on patient and provider needs. As I am writing this Blog, I am watching a senior citizen walk. He is determined to keep moving. This is what America is all about. We are a mobile society and we want to return to normal lifestyles as soon as possible after sustaining musculoskeletal trauma or degeneration. The essence of this blog is to talk about how it is our responsibility to help improve the lives of people and adapt to market changes.
We, at OrthoHelix, don’t promise anything more than to give the surgeon and the healthcare provider, the best value we can in our products. OrthoHelix is on a roll right now. The “changes” we are making in the “changing” market are focused on strength and ease of use. The summer of 2011 has seen many new products in the OrthoHelix portfolio and adaptation to the changing market by responding to the provider needs of cost savings and value added programs.
More and more surgeons are using EdgeLock® for calcaneal osteotomies, which is change. The new ISO™ Plate will be more “change” in the method of treating bunions. Our expanded ankle fracture product line is performing extremely well. And one of the most unique offerings from OrthoHelix, Tribrid™ Locking Technology, has been a “change” in approach to screw/plate interface and has been accepted by surgeons nationwide.
The Fall/Winter lineup for 2011-2012 is filled with new products that we are looking forward to launching into the changing market. These include Foot and Ankle product additions and improvements, and new trauma offerings that promise to be unique. OrthoHelix will continue to build off its culture of innovation.
