OrthoHelix’s Cameron Rubino awarded 2011 CFO of the Year in the medium private company category.

Medina, Ohio – October 25, 2011

OrthoHelix’s Cameron Rubino was awarded the Crain’s Cleveland 2011 CFO of the Year Award in the medium private company category on October 25th at the annual awards reception. The OrthoHelix Team is honored to have Mr. Rubino recognized for his many accomplishments. “Cameron’s award of CFO of the year was well deserved,” says OrthoHelix Chief Executive Officer, Dennis Stripe. “In his role, he has performed all functions with high integrity and unwavering support to build shareholder value.” Since joining OrthoHelix in 2007, Mr. Rubino has contributed greatly to the financial stability of the Company. He has been an integral part of an immense growth period at OrthoHelix resulting in an annual revenue increase of over 2000%. He has been instrumental in many aspects of the business including the fundraising process through both dilutive and non-dilutive financings, and manages all aspects of financial reporting. By writing two Third Frontier grant applications, Mr. Rubino has helped OrthoHelix secure $2 million to complete the development of new technology and add more than 60 jobs over three years.

He was previously the CFO of a $170 million venture capital firm and spent a number of years as an auditor with a Big 4 public accounting firm. Mr. Rubino has also worked with a number of start-up companies providing financial advice prior to joining OrthoHelix.

Crain’s CFO of the Year Awards honor top financial officers for their outstanding fiscal leadership and asset management. Candidates who were selected as finalists were profiled in Crain's October 17 print edition.
