CalcLock Calcaneal Trauma System

The CalcLock Calcaneal Trauma System is a set of fixation plates, screws and instruments designed by a team of orthopedic surgeons, podiatrists and engineers. CalcLock was designed to maximize the stability in the area of the fracture that has the greatest inherent instability, namely the posterior facet fragment.

The CalcLock System has three distinct plate sizes, standard, large and x-large; for both the left and right foot. The plates are fully contoured to fit anatomically with the lateral surface of the calcaneus as well as offer multi planar screw fixation with increased pull-out strength. The CalcLock plate has a combination of non-locking holes, a translation slot and strategically placed locking holes.

The CalcLock System includes a variety of screws. There are four different screws in the CalcLock System: 4.0mm diameter partially threaded non-locking screws - intended to capture the sustentaculum, 3.5mm diameter fully threaded non-locking screw, 4.0mm fully threaded non-locking screws and 3.5mm diameter fully threaded locking screws - for the fixed angle holes.

In the most critical areas of the plate, FEA testing results show that the CalcLock Plate produces 4 times less stress than the market leader, reducing the chance of implant failure and 9 times less displacement, offering a more stable construct.
