MaxLock Extreme Plates

There are 12 Universal Plates in the MaxLock Extreme System. 0-4 slot universal plates come in alpha and beta version opposed to right and left. This features allows the plates to be used on either right or left sides to ensure the best fit. The universal plates can generate up to 2mm of compression or can be used for static fixation. The offset ears allow for multi-planar fixation which increases the pull out strength. If a non-locking screw is used, a 25 variable degree angle can be achieved. The internal radius naturally fits most small bones of the foot and ankle.

These anatomically contoured 1st MTP Plates come in six sizes for right and left sides.

Each plate has 10º Valgus and 5º Dorsiflexion. The plates also have the option for 1.5mm of compression and offset ears for mutli-planar fixation.

The anatomical TMT Plates come in 8 sizes, both flat and contoured. The unique shape of the plate allows for four bones to be fixated. In injuries like a  lisfranc, the plate provides axial and coronal stability while eliminating the damage caused by cross screws through the articular cartilage. The plate also offers the option of obtaining 1.5mm of compression.

The Y-Plate and OrthoLink® Plates are small versatile plates included in the MaxLock Extreme. They have been used for many indications and have been favored in small patients.

The DFX® Distal Fibula Plates are anatomically contoured and low profile. Four screws can be placed in the distal portion where the fracture becomes the most comminuted. There are also two translations slot for the option of syndesmotic repair.

There are 7 anatomically contoured Clavicle Plates available for both superior and anterior application. The lateral plate comes in short and long sizes and the unique design allows for 4 screws in the distal fragment. The superior plate comes in one size with a 10.5 degree bend. The anterior plate come in short and long sizes with multi-planar fixation capabilities. The placement of the anterior plate may reduce dorsal surface tissue complications. All the plates have compression capabilities.

The OrthoLink® 2-Hole Wedge Osteotomy Plate is intended for wedge osteotomies of the mid and hindfoot, such as Cotton and Evans osteotomies. The plate’s combination of locking hole geometry and spacing fins provides secure correction fixation both during surgery and during recovery. The osteotomy spacing fins allow for more bone to grow in the osteotomy site during healing.

The OrthoLink® Medial Wedge Osteotomy Plate is intended for the treatment of moderate to severe hallux valgus deformity. The extent of the deformity can be quantified by measurement of the intermetatarsal angle with a preoperative weight bearing A/P radiograph. A distal procedure, including a soft tissue release and excision of the medial eminence, is often performed in conjunction with a proximal opening wedge osteotomy to gain adequate correction. The plates for larger corrections (4mm and higher) have a pre-bent contour corresponding to the appropriate correction angle and anatomy. This minimizes the need for plate contouring, which can often damage the threaded locking hole and compromise implant fatigue strength. This feature also reduces the stress on the remaining lateral cortex of the metatarsal osteotomy compared to straight competitive plates. The osteotomy spacing fins allow for more bone to grow in the osteotomy site during healing.
